THE MOOTED Google Nexus 9, which was widely expected to debut at the firm's I/O conference last week, has fallen victim to yet another online leak.
Typically, this comes via evleaks, which has spilled yet more details about the HTC-built Nexus 9 tablet. Perhaps the most interesting leaked detail is that claiming that the Nexus 9 will ship with 5GB DDR3 RAM, up from the 2GB RAM found inside last year's Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. However, evleaks notes that this tidbit of information is "non-final", so don’t get your hopes up yet.
Beyond that, the leak 'confirms' the tablets 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, along with its 8.9in 2560x1600 screen and 64GB internal storage. The Google Nexus 9 reportedly will also feature an 8MP camera capable of shooting 1080p video, and HTC's Boomsound audio technology baked-in.
Some details emerged about the tablet last month too, claiming that it will also tout a 3MP front-facing camera, optional 4GB connectivity and a 7.9mm-thick aluminium casing.
Evleaks doesn’t seem to have obtained any availability or pricing details, but Android Police last month claims that pricing for the Nexus 9 would start at $399, going up to $600+ for the highest-capacity, LTE model.
With most expecting the tablet to arrive at Google I/O last week, it's currently unclear when the Nexus 9 is likely to make its official debut. However, the tablet likely will run Google's Android L operating system, hinting that it might make an appearance alongside the operating system this autumn.
Neither Google nor HTC have yet commented on the speculation.
